about

As we move into a new year, at a point in time where political, economic, environmental, and societal aspects of our lives sit at a point of great uncertainty, Takeover releases thatboytim's Hopes and Fears ep.
The title track takes us through atmospheres of beauty and reflection, alongside dread and uncertainly, with a writhing, bass heavy broken backbeat, whilst T-Polar's mix evokes future space-age civilisations with his lush sonics, heavy dubstyle basslines, and future garage beat stylings.
A-Force meanwhile lays down a stoic skank for his refix, employing a soundsystem rattling bassline and sharp handclap patterns.
The ep finishes up with a message of hope and possibilty encapsulated in thatboytim's We've Still Got Options, a tough, bass heavy take on Chicago house and garage influences.
